Thomas Fuchs' & Felix Sockwell's

Deconstructing Dumbo

The two designers have self-published a new book presenting 100 reinterpretations of the Republican party's elephant symbol. This piece reminds me of our illustrator brief as we have to make 26 variations of our letterform. I like the playfulness of the illustrations and the mass of variations created, it shows how much you can work with and adapt one shape. It is interesting to see how the have kept the original shape and adapted the size or fill, adding and subtracting parts from the piece and also deconstructing the shape.
